IO, Jakarta – PT Avrist Assurance is celebrating its 45th anniversary as an Indonesian insurance company with a mission to provide one policy for every household in Indonesia. Simultaneously, Avrist Assurance shares happiness with underprivileged communities in 11 Indonesian cities, namely, Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung, Medan, Padang, Bengkulu, Manado, Balikpapan, Palu, Yogyakarta, and Semarang.

For 45 years, Avrist Assurance has been present, protecting Indonesian families. Avrist Assurance was founded by Indonesian joint venture pioneer Harry H. Diah in 1975. At that time there was no Indonesian insurance company that was not a legacy from the Netherlands. Capitalizing on the spirit of patriotism to develop the Indonesian economy, Harry H. Diah ventured to establish a national life insurance company and championed the regulation of the establishment of a joint-venture insurance company in Indonesia.

In 1982, Harry H. Diah obtained a permit from the government to first establish a joint-venture insurance company in Indonesia. His struggle not only bore fruit for his company but also opened the door for many other joint venture insurance companies to start in Indonesia and grow into the large national insurance industry as it is today.

Harry H. Diah died on May 5, 2020. His figure as a national insurance pioneer and a philanthropist will always be remembered. His legacy in building the Indonesian economy and helping others continues in the company and among Avrist Assurance employees.
