Meanwhile, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said the Australian government is serious about its country’s engagement in Southeast Asia. This visit also highlights the importance of Australia-Indonesia ties.
“We share a common interest in promoting a more prosperous, stable and secure region, where sovereignty is respected,” he said.
In Jakarta, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will also meet with ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi to discuss the Australian government’s commitment to Southeast Asia and the centrality of ASEAN. (rr)
