dr. Syahril reports that death from acute kidney disorder has lowered after the antidote fomepizole was administered to patients. The results of the biopsy of patients’ kidneys showed that clinical improvement occurred after the administration of the antidote. “Fomepizole distribution is now expanded to hospitals that treat acute kidney disorder patients. A total of 246 fomepizole injection vials are imported from various countries, mostly from donations – Singapore, Australia, Canada, and Japan. 200 of them are already distributed to 41 hospitals in 34 provinces di Indonesia,” he said. During the event, dr. Syahril underlines how acute kidney failure is different from chronic kidney failure. “Therefore, when the toxin is gone after the antidote is administered, patients can be totally cured,” he said.
