He said the Agriculture Ministry has provided a temporary solution by allowing the release of imported horticultural products that did not yet have RIPH but has obtained Import Permit Letters (SPI).

“But the goods have yet been released. The Ombudsman will send a team to inspect. We questioned why laboratory tests have been carried out and there are no problems, but the goods have not been released by Barantan (Agricultural Quarantine Agency),” explained Yeka.

Yeka urged the Coordinating Economic Ministry, Agriculture Ministry and the Trade Ministry to coordinate and harmonize their policies related to procedures and mechanisms for horticultural products importation at a time when the commodity balance is not yet available, in reference to Law 11/2020 on Job Creation and Government Regulation (PP) 5/2021 on Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing.
