IO – Jakarta – Starting off the year with positive activities, based on the state of Jakarta’s environment, regarding its need for greenery. As a hotel that won the Indonesian Inno- vation Award for CSR, Waste Care, Earth Hour, and Climate Change from IDX Channel Indonesia in 2020, this year ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center reinforc- es its commitment to environmental care.

Commemorating the “Day of Planting a Million Trees” on Sun- day, January 10, 2021, this hotel, having achieved CHSE certifica- tion, collaborates with the Jakarta Mangrove community and the Ja- karta New Generation of Indone- sia (GENBI); it invites the younger generation to increase greening on the Marunda Coast, North Jaka ta by planting 500 Mangrove trees and to take action by cleaning up trash. This action is also supported by the Wahana Mangrove Indonesia Foundation, dedicated to equip the younger generation with the knowledge of the importance of planting mangroves as a fivefold plant that produces oxygen and absorbs car- bon dioxide and becomes a plant that can withstand flood surges.

“We are very happy to be able to continue to carry out our commitment to care for the environment. Of course, we do this with a sense of our responsibility towards our environment by cooperating with the younger generation,” said S. Aulia Masjhoerdin, as General Manager. The hotel, established since 2015, also applies environmental care around its prem- ises, such as reducing the use of plastic by glassware in the meeting room, using Eco Paper for amenities, using air conditioning with an Eco Air Conditioner system where the air conditioner will operate according to needs through sensors, and supply- ing biodegradable straws.
