Asia’s “El Chapo” extradited, to face justice in Australia

Jakarta, IO – Tse Chi Lop, 59, the boss of the biggest crime syndicate in Asia and one of the most wanted men in the world, has been officially extradited to Australia from the Netherlands. He was arrested on several charges of drug trafficking and will be tried in a Melbourne court on Thursday (22/12) local time, reported Detik, Thursday (22/12).

The Chinese-born Canadian citizen is accused of being the leader of an Asian mega-cartel called Sam Gor, a major producer and supplier of methamphetamine in the world. Tse, known as Asia’s “El Chapo” – referring to the nickname of Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman – could face life imprisonment if found guilty.

Australian Police hailed Tse’s arrest as “one of the most high-profile arrests in history” in the country. Sam Gor is alleged to have laundered billions of US dollar of money from drug trafficking through a number of casinos, hotels and real estate in the Mekong region where drug trade thrives.
