Further along the green and beautiful garden dotted with shady trees, fish ponds, and unique ornaments, visitors can also see other intriguing art installations, one of which is the statue of The Undefeated Blackbird by Iwan Suastika. This work is based on the idea of “I am the universe, You are the universe, and We are the universe”. Iwan’s visual narrative is a surrealistic scene of a humanoid beast and a pop culture reference heavily imbued with symbols and metaphors.
Around 80 art installations and sculptures will be exhibited for a week, from April 7-14. Dozens of these works are collections of 20 galleries in Indonesia and abroad that took part in Art Jakarta Gardens 2022, including SAL Project, Semarang Gallery, ArtSerpong gallery, Facade x Kiniko Art, ROH, Bale Project, Museum of Toys, ISA Art and Design, and Hedonist Gallery.
