Jakarta, IO – Arema FC spokesperson Sudarmaji confirmed that the club did not sell tickets beyond the Kanjuruhan Stadium’s 42,000 capacity in the match against Persebaya.

“I can confirm that our ticket sales did not exceed the quota. We could see from the video or live broadcasts that the stadium was not overflowing with spectators,” said Sudarmaji, as reported by Antara, Monday (3/10).

On the rumour that entrance No.10 was closed at that time, resulted in bottlenecking and stampede, Sudarmaji said the matter has been subject of investigation to uncover the facts on the ground. “Just wait for the investigation, so we can know whether it was really closed or not,” he said.

Furthermore, Sudarmaji said Arema FC management is currently focusing on the emergency response as directed by the Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Muhadjir Effendy.
