Jakarta, IO – The Police Code of Ethics Appeal Commission (KKEP Banding) rejected Ferdy Sambo’s plea for a review of his unceremonious dismissal for the police force on Monday (19/9). This means Ferdy Sambo has to relinquish his position as head of the Internal Profession and Security Division (Kadiv Propam) and his rank as Inspector General, and is officially fired from the force.

“Rejected the appeal and uphold the KKEP decision No. EP/74/VIII/2022 dated August 26, 2022 under the name of Insp. Gen. Ferdy Sambo,” said KKEP Banding chair Agung Budi Maryoto, Antara reported on Monday (19/9).

“Furthermore, the appeal committee imposed ethical sanctions for the violator’s disgraceful act in the form of administrative sanction of PTDH (unceremonious dismissal) as members of the National Police,” continued Agung.

Ferdy Sambo is deemed to have committed serious ethical violations by ordering the murder and cover-up of his aide Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat (Brigadier J). The appeal trial was held in absentia.

In Brigadier J’s murder case, the police have named five suspects: Ferdy Sambo, his wife Putri Candrawathi, 2nd Patrolman Richard Eliezer, Chief Brigadier Ricky Rizal, and Putri’s chauffeur Kuat Ma’ruf. (un)
