Among the candidates proposed by Jokowo volunteer groups, Probowo seen as the most suitable


Jakarta, IO – Volunteer groups that support President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s held a massive gathering at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday (14/5).

In the run-up to the 2024 presidential election, they proposed to Jokowi three figures to be nominated as presidential candidates namely Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo.

Jokowi said he will take their aspiration into account and conveyed it to political parties or coalitions.
While he appreciated the proposal, Jokowi said he will not rush into announcing his support for a certain candidate.

Jokowi also asked the public to choose the future leaders carefully. In his view, the next 13 years will be vital in determining the fate of Indonesia.

Furthermore, Jokowi also talked about the criteria in a presidential candidate that people should consider.

According to him, people need leaders who understand the potential of the nation, have the courage to advance the interests of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and are close to the common people.

Immanuel Ebenezer, chairman of one of the volunteer groups Jokowi Mania, believed that of the three names proposed, Prabowo Subianto checked all the criteria of a leader according to Jokowi. According to him, Prabowo is a brave leader with great visions.

“In his remarks, Pak Jokowi referred to a brave person who is not afraid of being sued by other countries. This is a quality that can be found in Pak Prabowo,” said Immanuel, reported CNNIndonesia.

In addition, Immanuel said the Gerindra Party chairman’s extensive international network and experience equip him with deep insights on geopolitics. (un)
