Airlangga said the current situation is much better than the previous year. According to him, Covid-19 cases have been kept under control, plus vaccination coverage for the wider community has been more evenly distributed.

“My message to the public is that we must not be careless and still need to be vigilant that we are still in the pandemic situation, even in other countries there are still lockdowns,” he said.

“Don’t let a new wave emerge, especially when there is new variant. Thus, the health protocols must be strictly obeyed but gathering with family, please go ahead,” he added.

In this year’s free homecoming, Airlangga dispatched 20 buses to transport 880 passengers to regions in West Java, Central Java, and East Java, including Cirebon, Indramayu, Magelang, Boyolali, Sragen, Solo, Wonosobo, Lampung, Surabaya and Semarang. (dra)
