Jakarta, IO – Ahmad Dhani, a well-known Indonesian musician, successfully brought together the two bands he created – Ahmad Band and Dewa 19 – to open the 2023 Jakarta Concert Week at the Plenary Hall of the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (10/3) evening.
Dubbed the Ahmad Dhani Project, it sent audiences raving to sing along with dozens of his hit songs. The mini concert, which lasted from 7.30 pm to 11 pm WIB was divided into two sessions. In the first session, Ahmad Band sang 10 songs, most of which were included in the Ideologi Sikap Otak album released in 1998.
A number of familiar songs such as ‘Sudah’, ‘Aku Cinta Kau and Dia’, ‘Kuldesak’ and ‘Distorsi’ made the audiences drifting into nostalgia. Another song from the Ahmad Band that was unexpected was ‘Madu Tiga’. The song, with its distinctive background music, suddenly made the audience roaring.
After singing 10 songs, Ahmad Dhani brought Dewa 19 onto the stage. The band he has helped grow for 30 years featured Marcello “Ello” Tahitoe as the vocalist who gave an energetic performance.
