AGO reveals new facts in tin corruption case, state loss estimated Rp300tn


Jakarta, IO – The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has revealed new findings regarding the alleged corruption case involving PT Timah Tbk concession permit for the period 2015-2020. It revised up the amount of state loss from Rp271 trillion to Rp300 trillion.

“Based on our calculation, the loss is staggering,” said Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, per Kompas, Wed (29/5).

Head of the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP) Yusuf Ateh explained that this fantastic figure emerged after the office of the special crimes deputy attorney general (Jampidsus), BPKP, and a number of experts calculated the extent of state financial loss in the mega corruption case.

To date, Kejagung has named a total of 21 suspects, including prominent actress Sandra Dewi and her husband Harvey Moeis, who is linked to PT RBT.

There are also former president director of PT Timah Mochtar Riza Pahlevi Tabrani and “crazy rich Pantai Indah Kapuk” Helena Lim. They are alleged to facilitate the illegal tin mining activities in Bangka Belitung for personal gain. (un)
