The row started when Effendi equated the armed forces, especially the army, to “gang” during a hearing with TNI commander Gen. Andika Perkasa. At the time, he questioned the absence of Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) Gen. Dudung in the meeting as sign that there has been discord between the two top generals. This has prompted the House Ethics Council (MKD) to intervene.
