Another surprising item on the Sushi Murmer menu is the Korean kimbap or gimbap rice rolls. It’s similar to Japanese sushi rolls, in that it is made of rice stuffed or topped with fish, vegetables, egg, or meat and rolled in seaweed sheets. However, sushi rice is vinegared rice, while kimbap is seasoned with sesame seed oil instead. I tried the five-piece tuna kimbap that day, which comprises of a tuna, cucumber, carrot, white radish, and boiled egg stuffing, rolled in rice and seaweed. You eat it by first dipping the pieces into the dipping sauce they provided. The tasty kimbap pieces are just large enough for the Indonesian appetite, and suits our palate too. Even five of these delicious pieces are big enough a portion to sate my appetite.
