“Her music has helped me through difficult times, and this is like the sweetest thank you I can give for the pleasure I get from his music,” Hennen said.

Hennen found the new species in Fall Creek Falls National Park in Spencer, Tennessee. According to Hennen, the state was where Taylor Swift went to as she pursued her singing career during her teenage years.

Henner hopes that when his idol hears the news, she will be elated and want to learn more about the millipedes.

“For a researcher, naming a species after someone is like honoring her, so I hope she will see it in a positive light.” (un)
