Jakarta, IO – Brian McKnight successfully performed his “Evening with Brian McKnight” at the Pullman Central Park, West Jakarta, on Friday, September 20, 2024, with Maliq & D’Essentials going on as the special opening act.
Maliq & D’Essentials first took the stage, delivering their popular hits for about 45 minutes. Then Brian McKnight kicked off with an intro, crooning “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins.
Brian McKnight expressed his joy at appearing before the audience that night in a concert promoted by Otello Asia and Asia Live: “It’s an honor and joy to be here with you all tonight, when you have the choice to spend the night somewhere else, yet you chose to be with me.”
“I thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” said the renowned American singer. He took the audience back to a nostalgic 1995 by singing his popular hits, from “Still in Love,” “10 Million Stars,” “My Kinda Girl,” “6,8,12,” “Back at One,” and “One Last Cry,” to his latest hit, “My Legacy.”
Brian McKnight also invited Dira Sugandi, the concert’s special guest, to duet with him in performing “Whenever You Call,” originally sung by Brian McKnight and Mariah Carey. The audience immediately joined in and sang along to the song. “Whenever You Call” is famously tough to pull off, unless you’re Mariah Carey or Brian McKnight, so it’s no wonder the crowd loved the BrianDira duet.
