Jakarta, IO – Suzuki Hiromasa, a tourist from Japan, picked up trash on Kuta Beach, Badung, while donning Ultraman costume.

Hiromasa, who is also an environmental activist, said he came to Bali every year especially during the rainy season and strong winds which brought lots of trash to Samigita Beach, reported Tribunnews, Thursday (29/12).

“I wear this Ultraman costume to motivate the public and tourists to help keep the beach clean,” said Hiromasa.

He said this year the amount of trash that got swept up at Samigita Beach was exceptionally larger compared to previous years, consisting mostly of plastic waste.

Putu Bagus Ucup, a surfer, admitted that Hiromasa’s action inspired him and the surrounding community to play an active role in cleaning up the beach.

“It’s an attractive way to raise awareness. I also happen to like Ultraman, my favorite superhero,” said Ucup.
