Jakarta, IO – “Medical tourism” is another therapeutic option for Indonesia’s middle-upper classes. Other than obtaining a useful second opinion, they can also obtain international-standard medical treatments, in institutions fitted with the latest modern medical technologies. More than one million Indonesian patients already avail themselves of such technologies in destinations such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and China.

In the past few years, many have also added Turkey to their list of affordable, reliable medical tourism destinations. What are the advantages of sourcing your medical treatments abroad? And how much do you need to pay for the privilege?

“A medical checkup will only set you back USD 700.00 for second class, USD 2,700.00 for executive class. We use European-standard equipment and technologies, and even most of our doctors are educated in Germany. Our prices are competitive – just half of the medical services provided by neighboring countries, who still adhere to Asian standards,” said Hasni Hutagalung, Head of Acibadem Healthcare Group’s Jakarta Office, in a media meet in Jakarta last Friday (22/07/2022).
