A family poisoned in Magelang, Police: victims’ throat and stomach burnt

Jakarta, IO – Head of the Central Java Police’s Health and Medical Center Chief Commissioner Sumy Hastry said the poison used by Dhio Daffa Syadilla (22), a resident of Mertoyudan Magelang, Central Java, to kill his family (father, mother and older sister) was deadly.

The autopsy results showed that the three victims – Abas Ahar (58), Heri Riyani (54) and Dhea Chairunisa (25) – suffered grievous injuries, with their throat and stomach badly burned. “It’s sadistic, the poison is very lethal,” said Hastry, reported by CNN Indonesia, Tuesday (29/11).

Hastry revealed that the colourless and tasteless poison was mixed with tea and coffee by the perpetrator. “The dose was quite high. It could be up to 2-3 teaspoons,” said Hastry.

However, Hastry could not confirm whether the poison was rat poison or cyanide as it is still being examined by the forensic services (Labfor).
