414 students in Bandung HIV-positive

Jakarta, IO – The Bandung City chapter of National AIDS Commission (KPA) in announced that as per December 2021, out of a total of 5,943 Bandung residents with HIV, 414 (6.97 percent) are students.

“44.84 percent of them aged 20-29, very productive age,” said Bandung KPA chair Sis Silvia Dewi, a reported by Detik Jabar, Friday (26/8).

Other than students, as many as 664 housewives are also infected by their husbands who were engaged in unprotected sex.

Furthermore, the latest data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) also showed 75 young children with HIV/AIDS, comprising 17 (1-4 years old), 12 (5-14 years old) and 46 (15-19 years old).
