IO, Jakarta – Reed Panorama Exhibitions, in cooperation with Shopee, one of Southeast Asia’s e-commerce businesses, is holding an event to entertain Indonesia’s pop culture fans: the INDONESIA COMIC CON 2019. The event, to be held on 12-13 October 2019 at the Jakarta Convention Center, showcases both Eastern and Western, local and international pop culture figures and idols.
Hundreds of famous domestic and local pop culture brands, animes, games, TV shows, and exclusive merchandise are sure to excite Indonesian fans. The 5th Indonesia Comic Con (“ICC”) will have many interesting programs that pop culture lovers, whether consumers, creators, or cosplayers, can enjoy throughout the show. Starting from the “Be Our Captain” cosplay contest, the Love Reading ICC, and the special price given to the first 50 buyers of the event’s merchandise.
ICC’s 5th edition will have fun shows like the ICC Stage program, plus the latest Zone introduced this year: The Creator Zone. This is a forum where talented, innovative, hard-working creators show off their skills to the visitors and explain about their works. They would draw and discuss their original characters, their stories, they would have original merchandise to sell as well.
Other than the Creator Zone, the Cosplay Zone is making its usual appearance. This is where cosplayers dress up and act as the comics, film, and game characters whom they admire, where enthusiastic fans can meet their favorite characters and cosplayers, where people can exchange information and take selfies and just enjoy the scene.
ICC fans would be happy to know that Steven Chwee, Reed Panorama Exhibitions’ General Manager and his team, have prepared many lovely surprises for their fans. Pop culture idols, best domestic and foreign merchandise, and even a movie launch will be made during the show. “We’re absolutely certain that the Indonesia Comic Con is an event eagerly awaited by the thousands of our homeland’s pop culture lovers. Andriani Tirtawisata, Indonesia Comic Con’s Project Manager from Reed Panorama Exhibitions, stated that the ICC has successfully attracted the attention of thousands of pop culture fans in Indonesia and has satisfied their desire to meet with their idols. “We’ve had amazing people such as the actor who played Gaban, Kenji Oba; the original Kamen Rider, Hiroshi Fujioka; Negasonic from Deadpool movie, Briana Hildebrand; the Green Power Ranger, Jason David Frank; and many others. Just wait for this year’s guest stars – it’s a surprise,” he said.
“For toy fans, this year ICC will continue to showcase merchandise from famous brands such as Funko, Jadda, Majorette, Bburago, and Fortnite. From the comics industry, we will have many creators who are the pride of our country as intellectual property creators. These include edgy indie creators such as Frankkomik, Komik Ga Jelas, and Tahi Lalats. Our local film industry will be launching new films from the Bumi Langit Studios, Gundala Putra Petir and Tahi Lalats x Jumanji. All these will bring joy and light to the ICC 2019,” Andriani said.
